Deborah Livelihood Project

Deborah Livelihood Projects is a program designed to teach women  specific skills enabling them to gain employment and provide for their families.

Additional Projects

Held four to six times each year at the Deborah site, each one day seminar trains between 20 to 50 women. Participants come from friends, word of mouth, church and from the community. Instructors are recruited from local businesses as well as from the Deborah board. Previous students often assist in seminars or attend several to gain skills in different areas.

The cost to hold a seminar (including lunch) is an estimated 5,000 pesos (about $125 USD) and is divided among the participants as a registration fee. However, many participants are unable to cover this fee. We welcome sponsors that have a heart for this ministry project.

Training People. Changing Lives.

"I am 55 years old and have three children. I was trained through Deborah's Livelihood Projects in 2004 both in Reflexology and Swedish Massage. I am the breadwinner of our family because my husband is sick and can no loner work for us. Because of the training I acquired, I am able to serve three customers per day providing an earning of 900 pesos per week (around $22)! There are times that I serve 4 to 5 customers giving me even more earnings! These are a big help for our family's survival."

"Through God's answer to prayer, I joined the seminar a few years ago on Reflexology. I really took the training to heart to learn. I use the technique on my family and on the Deborah Board members! In just six month's time I had some clients that pay between 200-300 pesos for one hour! I am now able to tithe to my church. It really helps to augment my family's living costs. I always look forward to sharing my training with others so they will also learn reflexology. I thank God now that I'm assigned to the Deborah Cares where I can use my training to help the elderly."
Beth Raya, Baliuag, Philippines

"I spent a day in 2008 evaluating Deborah's Livelihood Training program. I found the participants eager to learn and excited to put their training into practice. Although the training is targeted to women, it was great to see a man at this seminar whose family will no doubt benefit from his training. Able to train for such a low cost, but providing an income for numerous families - this program is making a huge difference! I highly recommend that donors get involved in changing lives through this program."
